As most of you know our beloved Richard Thompson broke his hip a few days ago. Instead of sending physical mail, please leave your elove right here!
Ecards can still go to his personal email but this would be better for Richard to check for the time being.
I hear PT for this is described as "hip hop"... or is that rap music..? Either way soon you'll be twice as hip! <-See what I did there ;) Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteRichard, you're a genius and a talented artist. I wish you a fast recovery. Thanks for all the laughs, thanks for your work. Cheers from Spain.
ReplyDeleteRichard -- You'll do ANYTHING to get out of work! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though: may your recovery be speedy and as painless as possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.
-Lucas Turnbloom
Hey Richard! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. (As if you didn't have enough to deal with!) Sending good thoughts your way, for whatever they're worth.
ReplyDeleteRichard Thompson is out of surgery and recovering? I think that deserves a hip, hip, hoo… OK, perhaps that isn’t the best choice of celebratory chant in the circumstances! Thinking of your, sir and sending positive vibes in the Arlington direction, all the way from here in Blighty! Get well soon. ROLFE
ReplyDeleteRolfe, he still hasn't had surgery. I'll post an update here now.
ReplyDeleteMay you recover quickly from the dreaded "cartoonist's hip." Much like tennis elbow, it shows how committed you are to the game. - Josh Shalek
ReplyDeleteHey Richard - I hope this point in your life is the big turnaround and things start getting better and better. Get that artistic flame back to Full Burn! - Best to you and your family. Dan
ReplyDeleteLike one of my great golden age comics artist pals used to say: "You're not going to get ahead unless you're at your board!" Here's hoping that you'll be back with your family soon and maybe, just maybe, they'll give you a little bit of extra morphine in a pretty little box under the tree that you can open on Christmas day. Be well, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSending warm thoughts your way. And we'll send a cake with a file in it, for good measure. You can't tie a cartoon man down!
ReplyDeleteCart herding is more difficult than it appears --- who would't break their hip? Dill and Dill's brothers are hoping you're getting much better and that you'll be up and at 'em for more cart herding by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Richard, for an easy surgery and speedy recovery!
ReplyDeletePlease feel better soon, Mr. Thompson!
ReplyDeleteSending a dance on top of a man-hole cover your way. Hope you can have that surgery soon and get on with PT! Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteBe good to yourself, Richard!
ReplyDeleteRichard, sending snow. We have extra. Great for falling in. (voice of experience) Also good for packing on wounds when needed. Not as good as morphine, but I selfishly used mine up on me. I hope you mend soon and completely! Best, Pete
ReplyDeleteLove and strength to you, Richard!
ReplyDeleteI am usually such a chatterbox, but I really don't know what to say. Prayers for the surgery and healing. Of course. Over the years of following your career I have learned that you have such a wonderful support team of love in family and friends...and fans. If I were a wise ass (which I am,) I would say you did this to get out of playing the bagpipes at the Old Town Scottish parade.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and recovery Richard!
ReplyDeleteYou've made me laugh so much and so often... thank you!! I am wishing you a full and speedy recovery. Then maybe you can tell me how Alice can control bees with her mind...
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to send back some of the great pleasure I've received from your work in the form of best wishes and healing thoughts. I hope it's a smooth surgery and a swift recovery!
ReplyDeleteWarm, healing wishes are coming your way! I still wake up to Cul de Sac every morning with a smile. Get better quick! We're all rooting for you.
ReplyDeleteRichard!! Hilary Price here. I am sending you big strong aggressive get well thoughts. Brace yourself! Here they come!! xox

Hi Richard, it's Lincoln. This recent incident merely confirms my suspicion that you are the ultimate hipster. I'm hoping for all the best for you and yours. A very speedy recovery! I will be thinking of you.

Eenk Ook Ong and Pong, Richard. Hope you're back to "normal" soon!
ReplyDeleteGilda
All the best luck to Richard in his post-op recovery. My mother just had hip replacement surgery on November 19 and will be returning to her home today from rehab place - basically some 3 weeks later. Recovery is a lot of work, but she is determined to try to return to a normal state of affairs and I am sure you are as well. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteSending many warm wishes your way, for a strong recovery! I have Alice on my wall, and she inspires me daily, so I know she'll see you through!
ReplyDeleteSending best healing wishes to you. Hope the cookies got there.
